The Supreme Court on Tuesday cancelled the bails of former Satyam chief B. Ramalinga Raju, his brother B. Rama Raju and four others people in the Rs 14000 crore Satyam scam. The apex court ordered Raju and five others to surrender by November 8.
THE SUPREME Court on Tuesday cancelled the bail of former Satyam chief B. Ramalinga Raju, his brother B. Rama Raju and four others Srinivas, Ramakrishna, Venkatapathi and Srisailam in the Rs 14,000 crore Satyam scam.
A Supreme Court bench comprising of Justice Dalveer Bhandari and Justice Deepak Verma ordered Raju and five others to surrender by November 8.
Satyam Computers' founder B. Ramalinga Raju was granted bail on August 18 this year by the Andhra High Court. On October 1, Supreme Court issued notice to Raju on a petition by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), seeking cancellation of his bail. The apex court also directed the special court in Hyderabad to decide the case before July 31, 2011. The Central Bureau of Investigation had filed the charge sheet running into over 10,000 pages, naming more than 250 witnesses. Earlier, The CBI had opposed his bail and believed he may try to tamper with the evidences and influence witnesses. Currently Raju is undergoing treatment for liver infection at Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad.B. Ramalinga Raju along with his brother and other senior officials of the company were arrested on January 9, 2009, in the country's biggest corporate scam of Rs 14,000 crore.
