JYOTI RANDHAWA bagged a sole lead by the fifth hole on Sunday (March 8) and never gave it up en route to carding a five-under 65 and won the Singha Thailand Open by a comfortable two-shot margin over co-leader Rhys Davies of Wales.
With this, Randhawa amassed 17-under 263 while Davies shot a 67 and ended at 15-under 265.
While speaking to the media, Randhawa said, “I was so relaxed all week and I putted very well, especially on the third day.” He further added, “I came pretty close to winning Malaysian Open and ended second and then seventh in Indonesia was good, too. In 2004, Randhawa won the Volvo Masters of Asia in Malaysia. Among the eight Asian Tours he won, five took place in India. The rest three are - Singapore Open - 2000, Volvo Masters - 2004 and the Thailand Open - 2009. In 2003, he grabbed victory in the Suntory Open in Japan.
