Ranji trophy, Ranji final cricket match won by Mumbai
Mumbai, the defending champions have won the Ranji Trophy finals. They defeated Karnataka by 6 runs in one of the most thrilling Ranji trophy finals. Mumbai's Ajit Agarkar claimed 5 wickets for 81 runs, Karnataka's Manish Pandey scored 144 runs.

 
The latest news is that Mumbai, the defending champions have won the Ranji Trophy finals. They defeated Karnataka by 6 runs in one of the most thrilling Ranji trophy finals. It was the 39th Ranji Trophy final which was played at the Gangotri Glades cricekt gorund.
 
Karnataka failed to chase a victory target of 338 runs and were bowled out for 331 in the post lunch session on the 4th day, loosing by 6 runs. Mumbai's Ajit Agarkar claimed 5 wickets for 81 runs as Karnataka fell short of the target, inspite of a valiant effort by young batting star Manish Pandey.
 
Manish Pandey scored 144 runs and at one point of time, it looked as if Karnataka would easily win the match as they were quite well placed at 255/3. But theylost their last 7 wickets for just 76 runs.
 
The match was more like a sea-saw with both the teams fighting hard to grab the trophy. Mumbai were dismissed for 233 runs in their 1st innings, but bowled out Karnataka for just 130 runs in the 1st innings. In the second innings, Mumbai was bowled out for 234 runs, with Karnataka needing 338 runs for victory.
 
Mumbai were without Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan and Rohit Sharma, whereas Karnataka also missed Rahul Dravid's services as all are on international duty for the 2 test matches in Bangladesh.

Mumbai: 233 (Vinayak Samant 67, Vinay Kumar 4-61) and 234 (Dhawal Kulkarni 87, Abhimanyu Mithun 6-71)

Karnataka: 130 (Aavishkar Salvi 5-31) and 331 (Manish Pandey 144, Ajit Agarkar 5-81)

 
Result: Mumbai won the Ranji Trophy finals by 6 runs.
