Rape accused SP leader Gayatri Prajapati terms case against him 'conspiracy'
Gayatri Prajapati who had been arrested after being absconding has termed the case against him as a conspiracy.

"This is a conspiracy against me. I am ready for narco test," Prajapati said. A Lucknow court has sentenced him to 14 days of judicial custody.

He has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman and attempting to rape her minor daughter.

"I demand that the woman and me both should be put through narco test. I am being framed by rivals but I have full faith in country's judicial system," Prajapati told reporters.

Prajapati had been absconding since February 27 and was recently arrested from Aashiyana area of Lucknow.

Six people named in the FIR have now been arrested by the police. Yesterday, the police had interrogated Prajapati's sons and nephew to get information regarding his whereabouts.

Prajapati was booked after the Supreme Court issued a directive for the same. The court had also asked the UP police to submit a report on the action taken against him regarding the case.

The UP police had issued a non-bailable warrant and a look-out notice against Prajapti and had seized his passport to prevent him from fleeing the country.

An FIR was lodged against Prajapati and six others on February 17 for allegedly gang-raping a woman and allegedly attempting to rape her minor daughter.

The police has said that the final decision regarding the case will be taken by the court.

"In this case, all seven people have been arrested now and the matter will be forwarded to the court for final decision," Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law and Order Daljeet Chaudhary told ANI.
