Rapists let off for lack of evidence
For the lack of evidence, rapists have been let off by our Court of law. This is a sorry state of affairs and police needs to investigate properly and make sure that witnesses are not changing statements under pressure.

SIX YOUTHS accused in a gang rape case were let off for the want of evidence. It is believed that the victim changed her statement under duress.

Godhra and Best Bakery cases are also quite similar where witnesses kept on changing their statements again and again. There is not a single day when our media does not cover news on rape but forgets it the next moment.

Why it’s so? Is it not the part of media duty to see till it is through? 95 % cases are either not reported and if reported they are not registered by our protectors, so called policemen. The poor or Dalits in some cases are not even allowed to enter the police station premises. Justice is far apart.

Even though a registered case dies its own death for the lack of poor evidence, political and money pressure, evidences are created and destroyed as per the whims and fancy of the police and the political parties.

The witnesses also change their colours every now and then, leading to the release of rapists. Our Judiciary unknowingly becomes a facilitator in the release of these criminals.

There have been many such cases where due to benefit of doubt, accused is benefited. What a pity!

But an Article once published, must be followed up with write-ups till the case is dismissed and justice done.

There is always a group of people who are very much keen to know the outcome of a particular case but normally there is no further coverage.
