RCB plays Somerset in CL T20 though its almost over for the team
Royal Challengers Bangalore may be out of the Champions League T20, 2011, as it does not have single victory so far. Even wins in all their remaining matches would not guarantee them a place in the semi-finals.

FOR ANOTHER IPL side, Royal Challengers Bangalore, like Kolkata Knight Riders, the task of sealing a semi-final berth depends on the run rate - provided if RCB wins its remaining matches. They are scheduled to play Somerset at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore later tonight in the ongoing Champions League T20, 2011. RCB has not even won a single match in the competition. They are struggling without any points to show for themselves. On the other hand, Somerset has managed 3 points from their 2 matches that they have played.

It is very surprising to see a team like RCB not able to deliver the goods, as they were considered to be one of the favourites for the tournament. They boast great players who have already proved themselves at the international level such as Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, T Dilshan, and D. Vettori, etc. It must have been their bowling department, which has let them down to a great extent, along with their fielding too. Now, if they are to win their match against Somerset, they need to be at the top of their game in all departments of the game, batting, bowling and fielding too.

The Somerset team seems to have been looking in good touch as they have impressed many with their all round performance in the tournament. They may not have great players in their line up like RCB, but they have some great utility players in this format of the game, which is very important. Some of their well known players are Craig Kieswetter, Van der Merwe, Alfonso Thomas, and Murali Kartik. It is the team spirit that lies with the English team that has put them in good stead in the tournament. If Somerset wins the match, their chances of reaching the semi finals of the competition would increase manifold.

Chances of RCB making it to the last four of the tournament may not be huge but they would surely give their best. But who knows, if all other results favour RCB. They would indeed be delighted. But for this to happen also they have to win both their remaining matches against Somerset and Redbacks in the coming days.
