Real Madrid rejects Tottenham's bid for Diarra
Real Madrid has rejected the bid of around GBP 15.8m that had been placed by Tottenham Hotspur for Lassana Diarra. Real Madrid may be ready to sell the player if they come up with an increased bid.
REAL MADRID’S Lassana Diarra had attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur, as a result of which, Tottenham placed an offer of GBP 15.8 million for the player. The bid is said to have been rejected by Real Madrid as they might be demanding more for the Frenchman. Real Madrid had initially thought of selling the player for GBP 20 million, but they might accept it if it is little bit lower than that, as the transfer window will be coming to an end soon.
The 26 year old Lassana Diarra has been a good player for Real Madrid in the La Liga.
But, in the star studded line up of Real Madrid, he did not get a chance each and every time to plays in the starting 11.
Hence, he does not get enough chance to improve upon his game. But, if the player comes to Tottenham, he would be seeing first team football on a regular basis. One thing that goes against the player is that, he does not have a good medical record.
It was the present Tottenham boss, Harry Redknapp who had signed the player when he was the manager of Portsmouth. This time he may not be able to get the player for Tottenham as they may not meet the financial requirements.
Apart from Tottenham, other clubs who were interested in the player were Juventus, Galatasaray, Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain (PSG). If Tottenham fail to get the player, he may be brought in by (PSG), who has the cash to spend.
