Red Ribbon Club and NSS (Unit-I) jointly organized Blood Donation Camp at local Shaheed Bhagat Singh Technical Campus yesterday. The camp was inaugurated by Dr.A.K.Tyagi, Asstt. Director in the college campus dispensary.
There was great enthusiasm
among college students and staff to donate blood. The local Civil
Hospital team headed by Dr.Shushma, Blood Transfusion Officer (BTO)
managed to collect 50 Units of blood in the donation camp.
Speaking on the occasion,
Gurpreet Singh, Nodal Officer, Red Ribbon Club highlighted the
importance of blood donation, which can save lives of people
suffering from various diseases, during operation and accidental
cases. The need for such kind of blood increases manifold in India,
as India witnesses a number of road accidents every year, where there
is huge blood loss.
He further said, the members
of Red Ribbon Club are always ready to donate blood by organizing
such camps. It is such kind of camps, where a number of blood donors
come and donate their blood.
