Regularity of random gun violence in the US worries Obama
President Barack Obama is worried about the regularity at gun violence in the US and has promised action to reduce occurrences of such violence. Obama made his stand clear on gun violence while addressing reporters in the Oval Office consequent to such violence at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin that left 7 dead and several wounded.

"ALL OF us are heartbroken by what's happened," Obama told reporters at the White House. He insisted that American flags in the capital and at all government buildings throughout the nation be flown at half-mast in honor of the victims of the Sikh temple shooting.

According to Obama, gun violence had been occurring with “too much regularity” that required soul searching by all Americans, reported CNN.

Instead of pushing stricter gun-control measures in the wake of such shootings occurring regularly, Obama was of the view of bringing together leaders at all levels of American society to examine ways to curb it.

"I think there are a lot of elements involved in it, and what I want to do is to bring together law enforcement, community leaders, faith leaders, elected officials of every level to see how we can make continued progress," Obama told reporters.

Meanwhile, the gunman has been identified as an army veteran Wade Michael Page, who was one of the seven dead, wore white-supremacist tattoos.
