THE UNION Minister responsible for drafting of controversial ‘Sugarcane Pricing (Control) ordinance 2009’ should be asked to resigne because it has now been established that the ordinance was drafted to provide huge benefits to mill-owners at the cost of state-exchequers.
The Central Vigilance Commission should probe if any Union Minister or his/her family-member is a sugar-mill owner or on the board of directors of some sugar-mill/s which could benefit from the controversial clause (since announced to be withdrawn) of ‘Sugarcane Pricing (Control) ordinance 2009’.Scams and scandals at higher levels will not be effectively checked till responsibility of such malicious attempts to get benefits from exchequers are fixed and exposed.
