Renault launches Fluence for Indian customers
French car company Renault has launched the Fluence sedan in New Delhi today. Currently, two versions of the Renault Fluence will be available, but by the end of 2012 company has plans to put up five more models for sale.
FRENCH CAR major Renault has launched its first independent car in India, the Fluence sedan on Monday, May 23, in New Delhi, at a starting price of Rs. 12.99 lakhs. Earlier in 2005, Renault launched Logan through a joint venture with Mahindra & Mahindra.
The Fluence sedan will be available at Rs. 12.99 lakh for the Diesel variant and Rs. 14.40 lakh for the Petrol variant in Delhi. The car will compete with the other cars on the Indian road in the same category such as Honda Civic, Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Laura, Toyota Corolla Altis, and Volkswagen Jetta.
Renault's Fluence petrol variant will be powered 2.0-litre motor with 135 bhp and the diesel variant will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel motor with 112 bhp, and it features a 6 speed manual transmission. The Fluence will be loaded with features like climate control system, steering mounted controls for both the stereo as well as for cruise control, airbags, ABS and ESP, parking sensors, leather wrapped steering wheel, etc.
Currently, only two versions of the Renault Fluence are available, but the France-based carmaker has plans to sell five models by December 2012. Renault has aimed to sell 100,000 units in 2013. Company will also aim to increase dealership from currently 12 to 100 dealership networks by 2012 all over India.
