NEW YORK Democrat Representative Charlie Rangel has stepped down from post of chairman of the House Means and Ways committee today. Charlie Rangel sent a letter to speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi, asking for a leave of absence from the chairmanship while the ethics panel completes its investigation. Last week, House ethics committee has taken decision that Charlie Rangel had broken House gift rules by accepting corporate-sponsored travel to the Caribbean.
