Replacing cycle rickshaw with electric version in Delhi
The supposed reason for to switch to new version is that cycle-rickshaw pullers are sluggish, deceitful, unaesthetic lot and showcase individuality that 21st century India's ashamed to show to tourists during Commonwealth Games in October.
DELHI CHIEF Minister is trying to make Delhi world-class city without thinking of poor people’s life. The city is questionably worst transport system in the world. What government wants to show that to tourists visiting during Commonwealth Games? Is replacing cycle rickshaw with electric version will make Delhi no-physical struggle and excellent city? Is peddling is impractical idea?

The supposed reason for to switch to new version is that cycle-rickshaw pullers are sluggish, deceitful, unaesthetic lot and showcase individuality that 21st century India's ashamed to show to tourists during Commonwealth Games in October. Not only this, they are congesting roads. What Chief Minister thinks about citizens of Delhi mannerism? Are they perfect people of planet earth? Will government be able to provide free electric version rickshaws to all rickshaw pullers of Delhi? Did anyone think what the poor people will do without any resource of earning?

Kolkatta quite rightly banned hand-pulled rickshaws, as they were truly inhumane and West Bengal government had provided considerable resource of earning to them before phasing out from city. However, cycle rickshaws are not at all in the same category. In facts, various world-class cities are seeing an increasing number of cycle rickshaws.

The disagreement is that an electric version transportation device powered by battery instead of by a pair of legs. Is cycling itself is an embarrassing way to travel? If yes, why so many high profile people are doing cycling to their spacious office? Is electric version is pollution free? Doesn’t it need to recharge? Is Delhi having enough energy for this?

In my view, electric version of rickshaws will increase the financial burden on poor cycle rickshaw pullers and common man both who are using it frequently. Government should think of modernise cycle ways, cycle rickshaw ways and footpaths instead of opting for battery-operated devices, which need even more settings for infrastructural and power consumption. If government is so keen to see Delhi first world no manual labour city, it should first stop all labour job, which is effecting by the way of manually work. And if government want roads without clogging by cars and rickshaws etc, it should be first construct metro along Ring Road, make available cheap flag gable taxis, feeder buses to reach metro a and tram way. In India, government thinks of taking bread from poor and common man instead of providing something beneficial.

Most of the Delhi people are arrogant, uncooperative, selfish and don't care about the cleanliness of the public places.Even many educated class also behave in same manner.Mass etiquette and social education is required here.
