The Election Commission has ordered a repoll in eight booths in the Gurgaon Lok Sabha constituency. Though this is a bit late, but still the leaders are happy for the repolling in Gurgaon. The repoll would be held on 15 May, just a day before counting of votes.
When talked to Vikas, Personal
Secretary to Yogender Yadav, he said, ''We are grateful to EC for
conducting repolls in Gurgaon. Given that its only for eight booths,
whereas we have asked for a repoll in 110 booths, its just a token
response by the EC.''
He also added, ''It is also a fact
that, the response is too late and now as the exit polls are out, it
will surely influence the repolling. The EC should have done it
Whereas the BJP supporters in Gurgaon
are happy with the repoll and are saying, ''We are with the EC's
decision. They might have done this because of some problems in
polling. But this won't effect the results of exit polls and we will
get a good majority again. The EC should have taken this decision
long ago,” said Mangat Ram Bagri, MCG Councilor. As the exit poll
results are already out, BJP is predicting a clean sweep after this
EC is defending themselves by saying
that the move is not belated. The time was taken to conduct an
inquiry into this matter, and as some irregularities were noticed
during the inquiry, the repolls are being conducted.
