Nothing can be more exciting than the speculation of waiting for the next President or Vice President to make a public appearance. The reporters who actually follow the candidates, however don't love all the excitement.
AMERICA IS witnessing history being made with the elections and the candidates trying to outdo each other. It is not only the leaders who have too many things to do at one single point in time, but also the press people who have to run from one place to another to keep track of the candidates and their speeches.
Reporters, who follow the campaign people closely have to reach early for their job before the candidate arrives but being early has its advantages- a behind the scene tour. Alex Trowbridge, reporter of Politico.com said that the luxurious bus provided by Romney camp has more leather seats than an airport lounge.
The bus that carries people from the Mitt Romney campaign is just a tiny luxury to the humongous work that the campaign people do. However the reporters themselves are not subjected to any such luxury. As many would say it is a job of hurry up and wait for canine security checks and long stretches between stops.
Paul Kostyu, reporter of Cincinnati Enquirer said, “Any time any of the candidates has been in Ohio, there is where I have been.” The job can switch from calm to chaos at any moment like the surprise shopping trip for the Vice Presidential candidate Paul Rayan as he picked up a hunting costume for his daughter. Reporters sniff out every detail. However daunting might it sound, the reporters assigned for the jobs are quite used to it.
