Reshuffle almost satisfying and justified as per needs
Overall, the cabinet reshuffle last Sunday is well-balanced and we wish our Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to lead the country to more prosperity. This would be probably the last reshuffle before the 2014 General Elections.

THE INDIAN Prime Minster Dr. Manmohan Singh reshuffled his Council of Ministers on Sunday and  expressed confidence that the new team would be able to meet the challenges that lie ahead. As per him it’s a combination of youth, experienced members, and they have been entrusted portfolios accordingly.

This would probably be the last reshuffle of the ministers before the 2014 General Elections. The Prime Minister himself held the charge of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions; Ministry of  Planning; department of  Atomic Energy and Department of Space.

Among the new ministers are Mr. K. Rahman Khan Minority Affairs, Mr. Dinsha J. Patel Mines, Mr. Ajay Maken Housing & Urban Poverty, Mr.  M.M. Pallam, Mr. Raju Human Resource Development, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Law & Justice, Mr. Harish Rawat Water Resources, and Mrs. Chandresh Kumari Katoch, Culture. Mr. Dinesha Patel is a matriculate while Mrs. Kotch is just an under-graduate while others have good academic qualifications.

Mr. Kapil Sibal, a MA and LLM from the US should have been given Law Ministry while his portfolio would have been more suitable to Pallam Raju, an Electronics & Communications Engineer graduate with a   MBA from the US.

Dinsha Patel a matriculate and a former hockey and cricket player; headed a number of sports associations; District Cricket Association, Gujarat State Aquatic Association; and District Karate Association; Member, Executive Committee of Gujarat Cricket Association, and would have been an ideal choice for the Sports Ministry.

Overall, the reshuffle is well-balanced and we wish our Prime Minister all the best in leading the country and face the uphill taks of improving the lot of the poor in the country and pave way for growth.
