Residents of Sector 45, Gurgaon faces lack of water supply for three days
People residing in Sector 45, Gurgaon were struggling with their day to day needs, as they complained about the lack of water supply since last Friday afternoon. As claimed by the SDO, it was restored on Monday evening. With summers increasing rapidly in Gurgaon, water had become more than a basic need, as they did not have water to bathe, drink nor cook. They had to buy water to fulfill their daily needs.

"After our repeated requests to local officials in charge in the colony to fix the problem fell on deaf ears, we contacted HUDA executive engineer V K Shokand," said S K Dogra, a D-block resident, reported The Times of India. They complained to the executive engineer, but to no avail, but was instead mocked.

The residents after seeing that the authorities were not taking quick action felt the need to do something to make the matter look serious. As a result of which they showed their anger to the authorities for non-action. As usual, the officials paid heed to the matter only after such voices flared the issue.

SDO Tilak Raj, after which visited the site and found out the reason for the lack of water. The SDO said, "Since the main motor used to pump water into the main tank, which stores 35,00,000 litres, stopped working on a weekend there was no one available to fix it. It takes a day or two to fix these big motors and we arranged another motor temporarily from another sector on Monday evening after which supply was restored.''
