Review: 'Kapoor & Sons' is a family entertainer which is high on drama!
The much-awaited film (at least for Alia-Sidharth fans) Kapoor & Sons has finally released today. The movie has created lots of buzz ever since its trailer was out due to its super stunning star cast and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor's unbelievable look. But, will the entire film be able to impress the audience? Let's find out:
Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles, the film is directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Dharma Productions.

Cast: Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan,  Alia Bhatt, Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajat Kapoor
Director: Shakun Batra
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance
Duration:  2 hours  20 minutes
IMDb Rating: 8.9/10

'Kapoor & Sons' is all about a dysfunctional family and way to loud family members. The senior of the Kapoor family Amarjeet Kapoor (Rishi Kapoor) has a wish to see his entire family in one frame before he takes his last breath. But, his wish seems quite hard to fulfill as the family members have strong dislikes towards each other.

Will Amarjeet ever manages to bring his entire family together or his last wish will remain unfulfilled is something to watch out for.

The poor health of their grandfather who is hospitalized makes his grandsons Rahul (Fawad Khan) and Arjun (Sidharth Malhotra) to come and stay with their family in Coonoor. It looks like any next door family from outside but high drama and anxiety runs inside the house.

The director has set the plot considerably well. While  Rahul is a responsible guy,  Arjun on the other hand is negligent. The family drama begins. The brothers can not stand each other while the parents are already on the verge of a separation. What follows is the entrance of Tia (Alia Bhatt) into the lives of young bothers who already have enough to deal with.

Kapoor & Sons is apt to whatever its trailer had suggested,  a bitter-sweet family drama with some cheery, fun filled moments. The plot is predictable and the story moves on with a smooth pace. However, the director has put too much effort towards narration that seems very visible. The family fight has been decently shot. Songs hit the screen at the right time to bring in some relief when family skirmishes become strong.

Later, the family drama turns into a story about two brothers who fall in love with the same woman. The performances of the actors are decent be it; Rishi Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rajat Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan to the new flame Alia Bhatt. The handsome and very dashing Pakistani actor Fawad is definitely going to win millions of more female fans after this film.

After watching the film, it would not be wrong to say that it is very dramatic in nature,  and has too much Karan Johar 's impression.  These days, we rarely come across a movie that we can watch with our family and Kapoor & Sons is one of them. High on acting, tight script, few twists and turns make this movie a decent weekend watch!
