Revisiting Sholay in 3D
When we talk about epic movies of Indian Cinema, we cannot forgot the blockbuster movie 'Sholay.' It is considered to be one of the greatest movie in Bollywood and one, which created history. Powered by the superb casting of Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kapoor, Amjad Khan, Hema Malini and Jaya Bhaduri, it had everything.

It was a movie, where every character became immortal. From the aforementioned lead to the supporting cast such as Sambha, Kaalia, Jailor, Surma Bhopali, Mausi etc., everyone is still engraved in the Indian audiences' mind. They played their part so seamlessly that it created magic on-screen.

Now, it is time to rejoice as Sholay would live again on-screen through it's 3D version. The movie hit theaters this Friday and is called the improved version of the the epic movie. The movie is presented in the more finer quality with better sound effects. Although, most of the Indian audience have seen this movie an umpteenth times, but still they are excited to see the movie in 3D to experience the joyride in a different and supposedly better avatar.

To Ramesh Sippy, Sholay was what Sistine Chapel was to Michaelangelo. Considered to be a cult director, Sippy has become immortal on the pages of Indian Film history due to this epic film. Every dialogue of the movie is quoted like hymns by every movie lover. Depicting sarcasm the dialogues of the movie brings a smile to one's face. The famous duo of Salim-Javed penned down the epic story of friendship, rivalry, romance, action, and comedy in this film. It had the best mixture of all the necessary ingredient to make the film a memorable one.

The story of the film revolved around a policemen Thakur Baldev Singh and a decoit Gabbar Singh. Baldev Singh was played by the legendary Sanjeev Kapoor and the role of Gabbar Singh was essayed by Amjad Khan. To avenge the death of Baldev Singh's family, he hired two bounty Hunters 'Jai-Veeru' played by two biggest star of all time Amitabh Bacchan and Dharmendra. It is a roller coaster ride from thereafter.

People just love the chemistry between Amitabh and Dharmendra and is still considered to be the one of the best examples of on-screen friendship.

Not to forgot the beautiful Hema Malini, who played the character of Basanti in the movie, who is an innocent but brave village girl and romances Dharamendra. Another actress, who did not have much to say in the movie, but was able to emote wonderfully with her silent glances was Jaya Bhaduri (now Jaya Bachchan). She played the widow daughter-in-law of Thakur and the love interest of Amitabh Bachchan.
