The film starts with a man distributing the pamphlets that gives information about free cleft operation. He then reaches a village in Mirzapur searching for children with cleft. That’s how he found Pinky and other children. It wasn’t easy for them to go to Varanasi and get operated as they were from very poor background. But somehow they managed to reach, got operated and got their ultra precious smile.

The movie lets you know the psychological trauma these children face. Pinky was teased by her friends and was called ‘hout katti’. The scene when a child starts crying on being asked if he sees himself at mirror was very touchy.
