Rihanna 20 20 full interview with Sawyer
Rihanna on her first television interview, since being assaulted by Chris Brown, her former boyfriend, told 20/20's Diane Sawyer that she felt so very much ashamed of ever being involved with the Kiss Kiss singer in the first place.
RIHANNA ON her first television interview, since being assaulted by Chris Brown, her former boyfriend, told 20/20’s Diane Sawyer that she felt so very much ashamed of ever being involved with the Kiss Kiss singer in the first place.

Rihanna after being teased on ABC’s Good Morning, said that it was quite embarrassing that she had ever fallen in love with a person like Chris in the interview which was aired on Friday Night. She said that she was so far in love, so unconditional that she went back. She felt it very humiliating to say that such a thing happened and more ever to accept it is one kind of a traumatizing experience.

Rihanna further told Sawyer that during the February 8 attack, Chris put her in a headlock twice and even bit her ears and fingers. Still she found herself being drawn back to the fellow R & B star soon after the incident, which took place on the Grammy Award’s Eve.

Rihanna admitted that she stayed and even went back even after Chris beat her, which was wrong. She said, “I'm a human being, and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal. And all these expectations, I'm not perfect. Also it's pretty natural for that to be the first reaction. ... It's completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself. The minute the physical wounds go away you want this thing to go away. This is a memory you don't want to have ever again."

In the interview with Diane Sawyer, Rihanna said that it was later quite some time that she realized how important it was for her to send the right message to the people who look up to her.

Rihanna added that when she realized that her selfish decision for love could result in some young girl getting killed, she could not be easy with that and did not want her to be responsible for that. She said that even if Chris never beat her again, who’s to say that their boyfriends won’t? Who’s to say that their boyfriends won’t kill their girlfriends? Lastly she said that she did not realize how much of an impact she had on these girls lives until that happened.

Rihanna’s 20/20 interview video shows her giving out details of her painful Chris Brown’s assault.

.Re: Nika's so educated and real, she can't spell. But we'll l.i.g. LOL
.im will say this im a female very educated and i keep it real... we do not know what happend that night and if we were n the car with them then all this back and forth may matter but since we were not jus l.i.g it and take it for wat it is.... she most likely is not saying all that happened and she is not going to to protect her victom "image"
.Re: Re: - Read what you wrote again. You don't know either. I'm pretty sure Chris Brown did not call you personally or he is your neighbor. LOL. What you posted about - her "running her mouth, and not knowing when to stop" was all you had to say to announce your "character"... Deal with your issues, before someone runs their mouth to you- Crazy. LOL.
.Watched the interview with my wife, Rihanna you need to own up to your part in what happen to you. You ran your mouth, did not know when to stop and when it backed fired on you, you reverted to the child that you are. You played and equal part in you assualt. You assualtted him and he assualted you. I bet at some point he tried to walk away, but your mouth kept running. I watched you and I watched your eyes, own up to your part in this. Ms Sawyer if you were not so interested in ratings and how you wanted the story to pan out you might have asked real questions with out the drama. My question is when and why did you sell (your soul) out?

Ann / Mary Ann, you do not get it do you. In stead of running off at the mouth try using that gray matter between your ears. You do not know the story all you know is what you have been told, no more and no less. Stop trying to twist it. You do not know me, so how can you know my character, your still trying to twist things. You have issues, deal with them.
i totally agree with Ann. I still have not watched the full interview but the pieces i did see she did own up to her part. (she said she kept asking him about the text message as much as he denied it) as far as him trying to walk away he didnt do that exactly according to her...he more or less tryed to drive off while attempting to push her from the vehicle. This stems from a text message and her inquiring about it. There was no reason for him to beat her the way he did!
Re: James E III. -- Your a idiot. You indicate a person "running their mouth is a excuse to be brutilized and attacked. I bet you cheat on your wife. Your the only kind of person that could think of something as stupid as what you posted!!!!!
.I am 64 years young..abused from birth until I was in my 50's..I thought Diane Swayers interview was absolutely wonderful...Rihanna was outstanding...she is so above Chris Brown who is one of the most immature young men...I don't care how much money he makes he will never fit into Rihanna's category...She was straight from the heart...I give her an A+ for an outstanding true account of her time with Chris Brown....God Bless Rihanna...keep on following your true light...

Jasminte, ok I am missing something here. My understand of what you are saying is that you have only been on your own for the past 10+ years, is that correct? Lets understand 2 things, They are both inmature, and she did not lay it all out, too many missing segments. Next as she said at the begining they are both volitile. Your judging people with out a clue to their character. Fifty years of abuse?
