Rihanna on top for the fifth consecutive year

IN THE history of performing arts, Rihanna has achieved the position of first female solo artist to achieve the top position for the last five consecutive years. The Official Charts Company has announced her achievement after 'What''s My Name?' also became one of the top solos this year. Thus she has joined the elite group along with Elvis Presley, who had topped continuously from 1957 to 1963. Rihanna's other albums 'Loud', 'Good Girl Gone Bad' and 'Umbrella' had topped the charts.
Robyn Rihanna Fenty (born 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados), is a Barbadian recording artist and songwriter. She moved to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue a recording career and her debut studio album (2005), Music of the Sun, got into the top ten and 'A Girl Like Me (2006)', one of the top five of the Billboard albums chart. She was also nominated for nine Grammy Awards, winning Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Umbrella."
It's reported that Rihanna has sold more than 15 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide and has received several honours like World Music Awards for World's Best-Selling Pop Female Artist and Female Entertainer of the Year Award, American Music Awards for Favorite Soul Female Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist. She serves as one of Barbados's honorary cultural ambassadors.
