BOLLYWOOD ACTOR Rishi Kapoor was honoured with a citation and a diploma for his exemplary contribution and achievement in Indian cinema, by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation (ROSIZO) along with Routes 2 Roots, a Delhi based NGO and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). He was honoured in New Delhi at the Panorama of “Journey of Indian Cinema”, to be showcased in Moscow during the celebration of Year of India in Russia.
Speaking on the occasion Rishi Kapoor said,“I am delighted that Routes 2 Roots nominated me for my achievement in the Indian film industry. I am also honoured to inaugurate the exhibition of Journey of Indian Cinema. ”
The programme showcased the start of Indian cinema from the silent era to the contemporary era. On this occasion, a special audio visual presentation was also shown during the exhibition. His latest film Chintu Ji, produced by Bobby Bedi, dubbed in Russian, would be shown at the exhibition that would be held in Moscow and Vladikavkaz. “I am looking forward to my Russian visit, as I have fond memories of shooting for various films and my affection for the Russian people”, Kapoor added.
Rakesh Gupta of Routes 2 Roots said,“Rishi Kapoor was selected by us after a study of the contributions he made to Indian cinema. He is an actor, director and film producer and has played each role with his heart and soul. This superstar is a living legend because of the immense work he has done during his lifetime.”
