AT THE confluence of the rivers Chandrabhaga and Ganga, is a beautiful hill station, known for both connecting with nature and with connecting with the spiritual self. Rishikesh, located in Uttarakhand, is considered to be the initial point for the “Chardham” in India, as it is the gateway to the Himalayan shrines of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath, sought after by both devotees and trekkers.

The weather here stays quiet pleasant, with light rainfall and a cool climate throughout the year. Rishikesh is a well known pilgrim place and can be visited by tourists throughout the year, after deciding the climate which can suit an individual.

One can reach the hill city comfortably, from different parts of the country, as it is properly connected to different cities. One may choose to fly to Dehradun or Haridwar and go here too. From Delhi to Dehrudun one can either hop on the Vayudoot services or the Jagson Airline.

If one wishes to take to the trains, they can find one that stops here from Haridwar, which is 25 kms away, or travel from Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Dehradun and many more.

By road, Rishikesh is at a distance of around 24 kms from Haridwar, 50 kms from Dehradun, 75 kms from Mussoorie, 301 kms from Badrinath and 230 kms from Kedarnath. Bus services on these routes of pilgrimage also ply throughout the day.
