On the third Sunday of Raahgiri, Gurgaon Traffic Police (GTP) used the occasion to spread the message of following traffic rules among those who visited the event. Raahgiri is an initiative in Gurgaon, whereby every Sunday, the citizens of Gurgaon come together to celebrate car free streets.
Pamphlets were distributed encouraging people to respect right of way on the road, as well as those teaching children about various traffic signs. A Open Road Safety Traffic quiz was conducted, and winners were given on the spot gift Vouchers from Creambell Ice Cream.
A dog show was also held, with the police dogs showing various tricks to the mesmerized audience.
While on one side GTP officials near Vyapar Kendra interacted with the public promoting road safety, at the other end near Galleria, constables were busy ensuring that traffic moves safely. Traffic rule violators were penalised, several wrongly parked cars were towed away to send across a strong message of respecting traffic rules.
They also had street yoga corner, where an instructor was guiding people. Since the whole environment of Raahgiri is always of celebration, people were seen running, painting and enjoying themselves.
This event (Raahgiri) would take place every Sunday till March, so if you have missed out on anything, there are many more Sundays where you can catch up with the fun.
