Irked at the presence of roadside vendors who show up on the major roads even after facing eviction from the corporation, the commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) Vijay Dhaiya has issued a strict warning that the goods seized 'shouldn't be returned to these vendors if they are spotted again.'
He issued the warning recently to the vendors on Khandsa Road who resurfaced every time after facing the eviction from the corporation. Every time in the process MCG teams seize their goods and issue challans but all the good work goes down the drain when these vendors get their goods back after paying a fine and go to their businesses as usual.
Dhaiya has now warned that MCG will not give their goods back if they again sit on the road and sell their products, even after paying fine. On Saturday last, Dhaiya along with Raman Sharma, DTP, Enforcement team, SDO Vishal Garg and Gurgaon Police team reached Khandsa Road and removed all encroachments including roadside vendors. It took them five hours to clean the road.
Dhaiya also instructed his team to resolve all issues on the spot. “All damages caused by these activities should be fixed on spot and all local officers should be present on the spot and make arrangements for renovations," Dhaiya said.
But the major problem besetting MCG is the mushrooming of roadside vendors and local marketers who keep on shifting their bases.
