This Friday saw the release of yet another media-hyped movie Rockstar staring Ranbir Kapoor and former Kingfisher model Nargis Fakhri. With super hit movies like Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal to his credit - expectation from director Imtiaz Ali's latest offering is definitely high.

THE OPENING show of the movie was houseful as many hardcore Ranbir fans could not miss their rockstar in action, while many others came in to see the sizzling chemistry between Bollywood's next big Kapoor and his real life (errr...reel life) girlfriend Nargis. Merinews.com found that the awesome background score of the movie is a major factor in the film and is attracting the audience into movie halls.

Rockstar is a love story that is high on drama, romance and tension. The plot of the movie revolves around Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor), a downtown Delhi boy who dreams of becoming a rockstar like Jim Morrison. In order to fulfil his dream JJ aka Janardhan Jakhar realizes that every successful musician must experience life altering love, heartbreak and self discovery (no pain no gain mantra of life). As the movie unfolds, the wannabe rockstar finds both love and loss in the form of extremely pretty, rich and snobbish, Kashmiri girl Heer (Nargis Fakhri).

The first half of the movie surely rocks and strikes a good balance between flashback and the present, which keeps you engaged to the screen but falls flat in the second half as the story line gets boring with over-stretched scenes, which eventually lead to an abrupt ending.

Even though the movie revolves around Ranbir’s character, which he has portrayed with full conviction and grace doing justice to his role. Surprisingly, Nargis manages to make her presence felt throughout the movie thanks to her super-duper hot looks.

All in all, Rockstar is a complete entertainer with an awesome soundtrack, beautiful locales and a decent storyline. However, we are not sure if Rockstar will rock the box office in the weeks to come but you can surely catch this one-time watch movie over the weekend with family or friends.
