The disciplinary committee of the US Open Grand Slam championship took cognizance of the offence and conducted thorough enquiry into the sad episode. Microphone and TV footages were scrutinised to ascertain the truth and it was found Fedex was indeed embroiled in an argument with the chair umpire in the Finale of the US Open on Monday. The high level disciplinary committee decided to penalise him and he was fined $ 1500 for showing the unsportsmanship demeanour.

Playing for his record 16th Grand slam championship, Roger was trounced by a young 20-year-old Argentine Juan Martin del Potro in the final. The defeat also brought to halt Roger’s unconquered continuous five year run at the prestigious US Open.  Earlier another prominent player Serena Williams was also fined for showing profanity during the game.
