Roger Federer wins 224 games in Grand Slams, second overall
Currently World No. 3 Roger Federer equalled former World No. 1 American tennis star Andre Agassi for the second-most Grand Slam wins in the open era after beating Colombia's Santiago Giraldoin the first round of the US Open 2011.

FORMER WORLD No. 1 and 16 times Grand Slam winner Roger Federer, added one more feather in his cap when he defeated Colombia's Santiago Giraldo 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 on Monday in the first round of the US Open 2011.


Currently World No. 3, Roger Federer equalled former World No. 1 American tennis star Andre Agassi for the second-most Grand Slam wins in the open era. The 30-year-old Federer has now 224 Grand Slam wins and he is just nine victories behind another American former World No. 1 tennis player, Jimmy Connors.

The Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, who held the ATP number one position for a record 237 consecutive weeks and 285 weeks overall, is the only male player to have reached the title match at least 5 times of each Grand Slam tournament i.e.- Australian Open, Roland Garros , Wimbledon and the US Open.

Roger Federer won his first Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon, beating Mark Philippoussis 7–6, 6–2, 7–6 is one of the ever best Tennis player. Roger has appeared in the 18 of 19 finals of the Grand Slam tournaments from the 2005 Wimbledon Championships through the 2010 Australian Open. In the Wimbledon 2011, Federer broke the record of Jimmy Connors to reach the 29th consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinal.

Roger Federer has won five consecutive times from 2004 to 2008 in the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year at Flushing Meadows and he has an amazing record here - 57 wins from 63 matches overall. Since 2003, Roger Federer has won at least one Grand Slam title every year.
