Ronaldo wipes out Czech's hope in Euro Cup, Portugal in semis
The magnificent Ronaldo took the Czech challenge to their goal post, and displayed his dribbling, and shooting skills to the fullest. The opponents did try tricks galore to curb the wind of Ronaldo, but nothing went their way.

ONE OF the world's most precious jewels from the arena of football, Cristiano Ronaldo, lived up to the expectations of his countrymen as he scored the all-important goal of the match against Czech Republic on June 22 in the match played in Warsaw in Poland. With this win, Portugal has reached the semi-final of the ongoing prestigious Euro Cup.

The goal scored in the 79th minute of the game turned out to be a decider; Czechs did try hard to take the match to the wire but failed to do so. This is Ronaldo’s third goal of the championship, wherein Europe’s leading football teams and players pitch in to clinch the coveted cup. The championship is currently underway in Poland and Ukraine.

Though the result was never unexpected, but Czechs did manage to scuttle Portugal’s spirited efforts till the 78th minute. The table toppers of Group A, Czechs were more keen on defence than attack, they were bit on the backfoot and looked toothless as their star midfielder, Tomas Rosicky, missed out the important game, reason being he was injured.

Portugal will meet winner of the quarter-final match slated between Spain and France. While playing club football, Ronaldo has been instrumental in many a stunning wins, however, the same Ronaldo has failed miserably during national service.

The way Ronaldo is exhibiting his skills in the Euro Cup, experts are showering incessant praise and are of the opinion that the drought of trophy for nation in his armory will end with Euro Cup. This year, it appears, history beckons for Ronaldo.
