Rosaiah asks TDP president Naidu for Yeleru scam report
Rosaiah asked TDP about the Yeleru scandal, where the then Naidu government had appointed a commission, but had not tabled its report. In contrast, he talked about his efforts to unearth the current mining controversy.

ANDHRA PRADESH Chief minister Rosaih, has challenged the opposition leader and President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Chandrababu Naidu, that he would not be in the Chief minister's seat, even if the Congress party could not get the Greater Hyderabad Municipal corporation seat, where polls would be conducted on Monday, November 20.

Lambasting the TDP president on various counts, the CM held a press conference in the afternoon of Sunday, November 21, after he came from Guntur and asked Naidu to prove the charges he had placed against him. Naidu had alleged on Saturday, November 21, that officers, ministers including Rosaiah were on the payrolls of Gali Janardhana Reddy’s Obulapuram mining company and they were unable to control Gali's misdeeds.

The CM ridiculed the charges made by Chandrababu Naidu, commenting that the latter had an illusion that the CM's post could very soon be his. Rosaiah added that Naidu's comments suggested that he did not believe that after YSR's death, there were few people left in the party, who could run it properly.

Recalling the days of Chandrababu’s nine year rule in the state, Rosaiah asked TDP if any enquiries were properly carried out in the scams that were unearthed during that time. He particularly asked about the Yeleru scandal, where the Naidu government had appointed a commission to investigate the matter, but had not tabled the report of that investigation.

In contrast, he remarked that when the mining issue came to the forefront, the Andhra Pradesh CM had repeatedly asked for a CBI enquiry from the Centre, so that no stone was left unturned. He had even talked about the issue, with Home minister Chidambaram, so that there would be no delay. Regarding the Central Empowerment Committee’s (CEC) report, Rosaiah clarified that report had not reached him and the government would implement the Supreme Court’s directions in letter and spirit.
