THE POLITICAL prospect of YSR’s son Jaganmohan Reddy is still uncertain even as Chief Minister Rosaiah’s future has brightened considerably. Both the leaders met AICC President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday and it is known she had asked Jaganmohan to propose the name of Rosaiah as the Congress Legislature Party leader.
At the request of the AICC President Jaganmohan called on Sonia Gandhi with his mother Mrs. Vijayalaxmi and sister Sharmila. After the 40-minute meeting with the Party President an unhappy Jaganmohan avoided addressing the media, when asked what transpired between him and Sonia.
Rosaiah the Chief Minister of AP also met Sonia Gandhi in the early hours of Saturday and discussed state affairs for half an hour. Later he met the Prime Minister and other Union Ministers to seek help on various issues. It is surprising though that both leaders did not meet each other.
Regarding the Pulivendula by-election it is learnt that Mrs. Sonia told Jaganmohan that her mother or sister should be the candidate. His response is not known. Rosaiah told the media that this issue was not discussed during his meeting with Sonia.
It is learnt that Sonia Gandhi assured YS Vijayalaxmi, that she would elevate Jaganmohan when necessary.
It needs to be seen whether Jaganmohan will go by Sonia Gandhi’s recommendation in proposing the name of Rosaiah for the CLP leadership.
