Since many of the roads in India do contain pot holes, experts can be encouraged to debate the issue of either phasing out all the three wheeled commercial passenger vehicles and replacing them with four wheeled vehicles. Debates should also include introducing of good quality shock absorbers in all the three wheeled commercial passenger vehicles should be mandated to control the smooth movement of vehicles even on roads which are rough to ride.
In one of the advanced countries, pothole filling machine known as pothole killers was demonstrated. It is a one-an operation to clean, fill and seal the pothole. Experts believe these machines can fill potholes faster this way than doing the same manually, with better success rate. It is also considered to be a green operation, with the topcoat made from recycled car tires, and no volatile materials. There are no wasted materials and the materials on board can be stored for nine months. Experts also believe that without crews out on the road, it is safer process, and they said it is less expensive than fixing pothole the traditional way.
Based on the above, concerned authorities can do well to take the issue of riding on rough roads and potholes filled roads as a serious issue and look for ways and means to solve this issue nicely. Because driving community deserves comfortable driving throughout the country and potholes existing on roads do act as a bottleneck for comfortable drive.
