IN THE Champions League T20 (CLT20) tournament 2011, Indian Premier League (IPL) runner-up Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) will take on Warriors of South Africa in the inaugural match on September 23 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

In the Champions League T20, ten teams have been divided into two groups, consists of five teams for a round-robin phase. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals of the CLT20.
Defending CLT20 champion Chennai Super Kings along with 2009 CLT20 champions NSW Blues, Mumbai Indians, Cape Cobras, and a qualifier are placed in the group 'A', whereas group 'B' is consists of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Warriors, South Australia Redbacks and qualifier ranked 1 and 3.
2011 CLT20 will run from September 23 to October 9, will be played in three cities - Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. Before the Champions League T20, qualifier phase will be played in Hyderabad from September 19 to 21.
Six teams, including one from IPL (Kolkata Knight Riders), two from England and one each from West Indies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, will play in the qualifier. Three teams will qualify from the qualifier round to compete with seven others in the CLT20.
The semi-final of the Champions League T20 will be played on October 7 and 8 at Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium and Chennai's Chidambaram Stadium respectively, whereas the final of the tournament will be played on October 9.
