ROYAL ENFIELD, which is quite popular with motorcyle aficianados in India and many parts of the world has launched a new bike combining the retro looks with new engine technology. Royal Enfield Classic 500 is designed on the famous J2, a model which become quite popular in the 1950s.
The new bike has a state of the art engine and boasts of a electronic fuel-injections system, while the looks of the yesteryears have been retained. The company claims Royal Enfield Classic is a tribute to the glorious machines of the past and blends old charm with latest technology.
Enfield is a part of the Eicher Group, which produced motorbikes under licence from a British manufacturer till 60s. The company said that Classic aims to attract the young western buyers as well as Indian youth, who are moving on to heavier and more expensive bikes.
Royal Enfield Classic 500 cc version is priced at Rs 1.24 lakh, whereas the Classic 350 CC can be taken home for Rs 98,000. The company has been selling the heavier version in Europe since October last and year.
