Rs 2000 notes recovered from terrorists killed in J&K
On Tuesday, new notes of Rs.2,000 were found with two terrorists that were killed in an encounter in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
According to the police, the terrorists had Rs.15000 in cash of which Rs.4,000 were in the denominations of Rs.2,000. Along with the currency, the Army also recovered a large cache of ammunition from the terrorists.

The area was cordoned off by the security forces early morning after the terrorists opened fire. A heavy gun battle ensued for hours before the terrorists were eliminated.

The security forces then launched a combing operation to flush out for more terrorists, if any.

As per preliminary reports, both the killed terrorists are believed to be foreigners belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist group.

This incident has come a day after four armed and masked men entered a state-run bank in Srinagar and stole Rs.13 lakh in cash. The cash stolen however was mostly in denominations of old Rs 500 and 1,000 notes.
