ENGINEER, CARTOONIST, author, and sculptor, Rube Goldberg was honored for his contribution in the cartoon industry. Born in 1883 at San Francisco, Goldberg is known for his complex mechanism cartoons that performed tasks. He is fond of using everyday items and contraptions that reacted together to give an end result, like a domino effect only using different items and inventions.
Despite of not getting any support from his father, he kept his passion for drawing alive. However his father sent him to the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated and became an engineer in 1904. Rube Goldberg is basically an over engineered machine which uses many complex reactions to perform very simple tasks which is named after the man who invented it. The example of the machine working is the popping of a balloon. His passion for drawing first gained popularity through San Francisco Chronicle. Google has paid tribute to him through its doodles. Google’s Rube Goldberg-esque creation is also paying tribute to July 4, with an American flag, a tipped over barbeque, a spangled rocket and a shower of red white and blue stars. The animation comes to motion when the arrow is clicked. When complete, clicking the Google doodle will send you on a search for the 4th of July.
This is the third time that google has come up with such creative doodles to celebrate special days.It did so earlier for Pacman and Earth day. The thoughtful initiative would be appreciated by Americans.
