Ruchika Girhotra case: Law and Disorder?
Ruchika Girhotra, a budding tennis star of her time committed suicide because of the situation that the society created for her. First the 'respectable' officer and then the society. None of them left her alone.

FORMER DGP of Haryana police, SPS Rathore, holding one of the most respectable positions in the Indian Police Force has maligned the dignity to the force. His conviction by the court in the case did not perturb him despite the fact it was his duty to get criminals convicted and save the people from the clutches of the outlaws.

Ruchika Girhotra, a budding tennis star of her time committed suicide because of the situation that the society created for her. First the “respectable” officer and then the society. None of them left her alone.

Abduction of her younger brother and the torture done to her family would even make a dead rock squirm. This low has the pride of our nation fallen that one of the most reputed schools of the city have been proved to have taken a biased decision of expelling her.

He death can can termed as “Murder” because she was compelled to commit suicide. We call education as one of the pillars of the nation. Whatever happened to that? The embarrassment and the atrocities done to her family which she bore for two long years pushed her. The expulsion from school came out to be the last blow before she fell down the cliff of life and hope. Who is to take blame? The man who started it or the society with its deplorable tactics? Or should we say the great country of India which claims to be the largest democratic country in the world? Democratic; is India democratic? In a country, where a high police official molests a young girl and does not hide the fact and all the more, feels proud after doing it; a girl who after complaining it to the board gets expelled from her school, loses the support of the society and witnesses her family suffering. If that is not enough, she loses hope and her very own dignity. I don’t think a country where this takes place is democratic.

The culprit who was a former DGP, smiles to the camera saying that he learnt from Nehru to smile when in adversity. Learn so much as to smile in adversity from Nehru, what about the rest of the wisdom? Guess that went down the drain.

This case is a question mark to the principles of our nation; it is a question to the country’s dignity and integrity. This case is also a warning, for all those iniquitous ‘servants of nation’ to think a hundred times before committing such a crime. People like Rathore are a blot to the nation and above all, to the humanity. He deserves the severest of punishments despite his 68 years of age.

Smile, if he must.

It is a matter of great for all of us that a young girl of 14 is forced to commit suicide to save her family from suffering caused by her complaint of the humiliation caused to her from the protector of society. It is not only rathore who is guilty but his wife and all the people assisted him to get away from this. he does not deserve to live if we claim to live in a civilized society.
it is tragic, rathore should not be spared, he should be hanged publicly
