Now, let us take the case of medicare. Government has opened so many dispensaries in the villages but these are not provided with adequate facilities. The doctors, nurses and pharmacists are not willing to go to villages because of lack of connectivity, lack of education facilities and lack of electricity as well as sanitation.
In this case also, rural infrastructure is very essential so that more and more doctors and medical staff could go to the villages.
Same is the case with sanitation. There is acute lack of safe drinking water in the villages and sanitation staff is also reluctant to work in the villages because of lack of adequate infrastructure i.e. roads, transport and electricity.
So, the primary need for sustenance of life in the villages is the setting up of rural infrastructure which would also facilitate the setting up of village level industries like food processing industries. For this purpose, Government should approach the various world organisations, foreign Governments and NRIs for investing in the setting up of rural infrastructure.
This would also stop migration of rural population to Urban areas thereby stopping the growth of urban slums and uprooting of villagers from their cultural moorings.
