SHIV SENA mouthpiece, Saamna, has slammed Sachin Tendulkar for saying that he was proud to be a Marathi but he was an Indian first. In its editorial, Saamna has asked Sachin to concentrate on cricket instead of making political statements.

Saamna editorial said that there was no reason for the Indian cricketer, who is a Mumbai resident and Maharashtrian to make this comment. Admitting that Sachin was the Badshah of cricket, the newspaper suggested that the master blaster should apply his mind on the game.

Saamna also accused Tendulkar of getting run out on the pitch of Marathi mindspace. It must be recalled that the little master had said that he was extremely proud of being a Maharashtrian but he was an Indian first.
