LITTLE MASTER, master blaster, batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar missed yet another chance to reach 17000 runs in one day international. He needed 47 runs to reach the magical figure of 17000 runs. He had a great chance of achieving the milestone in the India Vs Australia 4th ODI, which is being played at Mohali today. He was out leg before wicket for 40 runs off the bowling of Hauritz, thus missing by 7 runs. Sachin was seen quite disappointed in the dressing room after watching the replays as he thought the ball would have missed leg stump.

The batting friendly pitch at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium at Mohali is the place where everyone hoped and expected Sachin to reached 17000 runs against his favourite opponent, Australia. Sachin has not been in the best of forms in the India Australia series 2009, but this match has surely got him back on track and he had gathered the much needed form. He had scored just 50 runs in the last three matches.

The PCA stadium was a lucky stadium for Tendulkar in the past, but not today. It was the same venue where he surpassed West Indian Brian Lara as the highest team run scorer and became the first cricketer in the history of cricket to score 12,000 test runs.

Tendulkar now needs just 7 runs to reach 17000 runs and the whole of India will have to wait for the 5th ODI match.

The lastest score was India were 114/4 after 24 overs. The last batsman to be dismissed was Yuvraj Singh, who was run out by a direct throw from Ricky Ponting. He scored 12 runs of 21 balls.
