This living legend of Indian cricket was born in the year April 24, 1973, in Mumbai. He came on the International cricket scene in 1989, when he made his debut against Pakistan at the age of 16 years. Since then he has not looked back and has written several record books.
In the year 1990, he scored his first test hundred against England at the age of 17. He has played some scintillating innings in his career, which have brought name and fame for the country. In the 1996 World Cup he gave a fine display of his batting and was the highest scorer in the tournament and was instrumental in taking India to the semifinal where they were defeated by the eventual winners Sri Lanka. In the 2003 World Cup, which was held in South Africa, he was again at his best and played a key role in taking India to the final of the tournament. He was the highest scorer of the tournament with 673 runs and was conferred with the man of the tournament award. His resolve to bring home the coveted World Cup in 2007 was not materialised when India was eliminated in the first round itself.
He is the first batsman to score more than 16000 runs in one-day international matches; he is only the third batsman in test history to have scored more than 11000 runs in test cricket. He is also holding many other test and one day records. He is one batsman who has all sorts of shots in his batting style. He can play lethal pace of Shoaib Akhtar or Shane bond with ease as well as spin of any world-class bowler including Murlidharan. Although he has nothing to prove on the field but as a captain he has been a failure.
Owing to his superb display of crickiting skills, he has won numerous prestigious national and international awards. Government has conferred him with the second highest civilian Award Padma Vibhushan in the year 2008; he has also won the highest sporting award Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratan Award in the year 1997-98, and Arjuna Award in 1994.
He is a cricketer with most endorsements in the world of advertisement and still the most sought after cricketer. Sachin has not hanged his boots yet, he is still playing and we hope some more records to tumble in the coming days.

.Sachin has the most number of personal records in his name.You know why? Because he plays only for personal records and not for the team. The player who plays for the team's cause and not for personal achievements because he nwill always sacrifice himself and his personal endeavours for the team's cause time and again and will not be able to achieve so much personal achievements in his cricketing career. Sachin has never done that and hence he is the best personal performer i8n cricketing history,but still our team has never beaten Pakistan in Sharjah.Our team has never won a world cup in his tenure.You guys would surely agree with me.
