SAD-BJP admits shortcomings in view of people’s verdict against BJP in Punjab
On Sunday evening, over a dinner organized to celebrate the historical victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections and formation of NDA government led by Narendra Modi, BJP's Punjab unit organised a 'thanksgiving meeting' in Ferozepur. In the meeting Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP President and Sher Singh Ghubaya, the local MP addressed the meeting.

Sher Singh Ghubaya MP of SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab, continuing his winning streak, trounced his nearest rival Sunil Jakhar of Congress by a comfortable margin of 31,420 votes. During the last Lok Sabha polls in 2009, Ghubaya had defeated Jagmeet Singh Brar of Congress by a margin of 21,071 votes by bagging 4,50,900 votes.

Addressing the ‘Thanksgiving Meeting’, Sher Singh Ghubaya said, “We will improve our working and also do the work for the development of the area. He assured to arrange maximum funds from the Centre and State and apart from completion of old projects, new will also be launched which will bring prosperity in these border towns.”

Kamal Sharma, Punjab BJP President, in his address while congratulating the party workers and citizens over the formation of Modi-led NDA government at the Centre and also conveyed his special thanks for giving verdict in favour of Sher Singh Ghubaya by electing him for the second time and making him a part of the biggest Panchayat (Parliament) of world’s largest democratic country.

Kamal Sharma said, so far as Ferozepur is concerned, no doubt there is a winning lead but there is a need to examine the over-all performance of the state.

He, however, admitted that almost in all the districts in Punjab, the people have shown their resentment against both (SAD & BJP) parties which indicates that there is something wrong at our end. In coming days, its analysis is also being made by a special team constituted for the purpose which will help in forming the new strategy in the coming Council and Assembly elections.

He further said, there is need to worry over the results as well as to introspect our shortcomings with a view to improve the same.

Kamal Sharma said, we will see that the benefit of Centre-State schemes should go at the lower end and grants to the Panchayats assured strictly on merit as there are certain Panchayats which have been deprived of the grants for over two decades.
