Saddam Hussein's personal secretary Hmoud executed for political crimes
In Baghdad, a relative and the personal secretary of Saddam Hussein, Abed Hamid Hmoud, was executed by hanging on Thursday, June 7.

ACCORDING TO the Iraqi Justice Ministry, Abed Hamid Hmoud was executed and his body has been handed over to his family members the same day on June 7.

Hmoud, one of Saddam’s cousins, was captured by the U.S. forces in June 2003 from the northern Iraqi town of Tikrit. After a long trial, he has been executed for persecuting members of the Shiite opposition and then-banned religious groups.

According to the new regime, Hmoud was No. 4 on their wanted list after Saddam and his sons, Qusai and Odai. During Saddam's rule, he enjoyed the complete trust of then Iraqi president.

One may recall that it was in January 2010, when Saddam's another cousin called ‘Chemical Ali’ was hanged for his political crimes.

Currently, Saddam's foreign minister, Tariq Aziz, who has been sentenced to death in 2010, awaits execution.
