Saif Ali Khan is about to make his maiden appearance to Cannes as the brand ambassador of Chivas. It would be a welcome change for the French audience to get a glimpse of a male Indian actor, not just accompanying a known actress.

 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first Indian actress to open the world of Cannes to the Indian public with her 2002 appearance for Devdas. After that it has been a regular thing for her as she represented L’Oreal on the red carpet. Other actresses such as Mallika Sherawat, Minisha Lamba and Frida Pinto had been following the footprints of the Miss World’ 94.
 
Now, for the first time, a Bollywood actor has been invited to the Cannes Film festival as a brand ambassador. Saif Ali Khan is elated with the opportunity and is looking forward to the occasion. His primary concern is that he wants to look good on the red carpet. As we all know that people are judged worldwide about what they wear on the red carpet and Saif doesn’t want to be caught off guard. When asked what he was going to wear Saif was quick to say, “Kareena has been asking me to buy a Tom Ford suit for some time now. So finally, I’ve got one. But I have my own sense of style.”

 
The actor has high hopes for his films in the future and wants some day to walk the red carpet showcasing one of his films. Fantasizing about the same he says, “Attending Cannes will be exciting, but it would be great if I can showcase one of my movies at the fest some day. Ideally, I should show my film in the competition section and that’d be a great occasion to attend the festival.” For now he is happy with his maiden appearance as the brand ambassador for the liquor brand Chivas.
