Saina sails superbly to badminton quarterfinals at London Olympics
India's ace female shuttler Saina Nehwal sailed into quarter-finals of badminton at London Olympics with a straight-game win against Dutch shuttler Jie Yao.

SAINA, 22, has brought some cheer to the Indian camp by defeating her opponents with a 21-14 and 21-16 score line in 40 minutes.

In her previous Olympics' performance Saina had made it to the last-eight stages of the badminton competitions. The hallmarks of Saina's game have been the superb net play and long rallies.

Saina, a Khel Ratna awardee, is the first Indian woman to reach the singles quarterfinals at the two consecutive Olympics. She is also the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships. Furthermore, Saina became the first Indian to win a Super Series tournament in Jakarta recently.

In the quarterfinals Saina is likely to take on either Tine Baun of Denmark or Sayaka Sato of Japan.
