Salman Khan is planning on distributing 2500 water tanks across five districts of Maharashtra Beed, Osmanabad, Jalna, Aurangabad, Nanded. Although this is not the first time that the actor will be engaged in a philanthropic activity but this is certainly the first time he is going beyond Bandra region of Mumbai to help people.
This act was prompted by the actor when he learnt that villagers in the areas have small vessels to store water in and this often leads to fights when tankers arrive. Thus to cull these episodes the actor has ordered a bulk of tanks so that everyone gets their own tankers. This task of getting water tankers is being looked after by Khan's 'Being Human' foundation.
The drought-affected districts of Marathwada would get around 2000 litres each of water. As was reported by ndtv.com, Beed Residential District Collector B M Kamble said, “We received an e-mail that Beed district will get 750 water tanks from 'Being Human' foundation. We have informed the Divisional Commissioner for distribution of these tanks.”
Beed would receive 750 tankers, 500 would be given to Osmanabad and Jalna and 250 each would go to 250 each to Aurangabad and Nanded. Being Human has also adopted 200 villages Aurangabad district.
