THE 58th NATIONAL awards for films in India were announced this afternoon. Salman Khan Starrer and Arabaaz Khan's debut production "Dabangg" won the National Award for 'wholesome entertainment', whereas Malayalam film "Adaminte Makan Abu" was announced as the best film.
In the most prestigious awards for films in the country, Dhanush and Salim Kumar won the best actor award for their films Aadukalam and Adamante Makan Abu, and the actresses Mitalee Jagtap and Saranya won the best actress award in the 58th National Awards for films.
Hindi film "Do Dooni Chaar" and English film "Memories in March" won the National Awards in the category of best Hindi and English film. Veerimaran won the prestigious award in the category of best director.

In the category of best special effects, Rajinikanth's movie Enthiran, Robot, won the prestigious award. Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein won the special jury award, whereas Advaitam and Leaving Home won the best educational film and best art and culture film in the 58th National Awards for films in India.
