Salman Khurshid didn't succumb to blackmail and rightly so
Is it possible that Khurshid is not revealing all because he wants to take his opponents by surprise in the court? He was repeatedly telling the media representative that he will meet them in court. He must be having something up his sleeve.

SALMAN KHURSHID'S reaction to the allegations levelled against him by India Today Group was on expected lines. He defended himself and his wife and stoutly refuted some of the charges, which have been leveled against the Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust.

What is more, the Union Law Minister has demanded that the media group responsible for the sting operation on the NGO run by his wife should be included in the ambit of an enquiry that might be held. He faced the media for nearly two hours and did raise his voice on several occasions to shout down a correspondent who was continuously needling him with a question, which he refused to answer, saying that he himself had sought a probe into that.

He refuted the allegation that the Trust had not organized several camps despite receiving grants for the same, produced the photos of some camps and also showed utilization certificates to prove his contention that the Trust had spent all the money given by the government.

Salman Khurshid was asked why he was not answering Kejriwal's five questions. He said he would not. On the contrary he said that Kejriwal is a 'blackmailer, a third- rate man'. Kejriwal was fuming with anger on hearing Khurshid's remarks and retaliated by saying several things in the same angry and fiery but boringly monotonous tone, which was once cheered but which now sounds jarring because of over repetition.

He should realize that there is something like the law of diminishing returns. And one cannot continue to enjoy for all time what Gandhiji called, 'a drain inspector's report. Shree Prakash Jaiswal has demanded his arrest for creating unrest. His well-wishers should silence him. Why doesn't his close associate - Prashant Bhushan also speak in the same way, repeating over and over again the same charges without any proof worth the name?

If he says that Khurshid has forged some documents, can't the same charge be leveled against his team as well? Khurshid refused to resign on the issue but added that he is a loyal party worker, a soldier of the Congress party and that he would obey any command that he receives from the party. At the same time he also asserted firmly that he was not going to succumb to blackmail and told the representative of the media group with full throated confidence that he would see them in court and said that the defamation case filed in the Delhi High Court against the TV Today Group, would be filed in courts in UP and in England too, since the Channel's story was available there.

Is it possible that Khurshid is not revealing all because he wants to take his opponents by surprise in the court? He was repeatedly telling the media representative that he will meet them in court. He must be having something up his sleeve. He also had a point when he said that why should he reply to those who are crying themselves hoarse on roads and streets and using their lung-power to attract attention so as to brighten their electoral prospects?
