Once again political parties have come up with sops and bags of promises for the electorate in their election manifesto. How they will be able to fulfill big promises they make during the election time following the paucity of funds?
SENIOR SAMAJWADI Party leader Prof Ram Gopal Yadav released the election manifesto of his party here in Lucknow on Friday. Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and party’s Uttar Pradesh state president Akhilesh Yadav was also present on the occasion.

Addressing the media on the occasion, Prof Ram Gopal Yadav told pressmen that his party would provide free irrigation facility to farmers in the state if they are voted to power. The Samajwadi Party after coming to power will not play any role in the land acquisition programmes and the party would waive off the loans that have been pending against the weavers and farmers in the state.
Coming to the issue of Muslim reservation, the manifesto speaks to give reservation in jobs only on the basis of the recommendations made by the Rangnath Mishra committee and Sacchar commission.
The government will provide free education to all children upto class VIII in the state. The party would provide school dress twice a year to the girls coming to schools.
Prof Ram Gopal Yadav made due emphasis on the education sector. In his party’s manifesto, the party has clearly mentioned that they would provide free laptops and tablets to every student who clears High School and Intermediate. The party will bring back the “Kanya Dhan yojna” under which a free cycle will be given to each girl coming to school.
The Samajwadi Party manifesto further says a big no to the FDI in retail market in Uttar Pradesh. Prof Yadav said his party was committed to protect the interest of small shopkeepers and traders. The party has also fixed the service age to 35 years.
The party will construct stadiums at every district level so that good players can be produced from the state. The party will give pension to all the farmers who have attained the age of 65 years. Besides, the party if voted to power, will give free power to farmers and weavers.
The party will complete all the Bridges which were started in its regime and later work was stopped on them following change in guard in the government. The party will also give Rs 1000 as non-employment allowance.
